Crystal Reports 8 - Introduction

After completing this course, students will know how to:

  • Open a report and examine the Crystal Reports window, create a report by selecting a data source and inserting fields, save a report, and modify a report’s appearance by sizing, arranging, and aligning its fields.
  • Sort records in ascending and descending order, filter records by creating record selection formulas, create and modify groups, insert subtotals and grand totals, insert summary fields, and set grouped records in order.
  • Identify various formula components, create and modify formulas, and use functions in formulas.
  • Format a report by changing font style, size, and color; add lines, boxes, and shapes to a report; and format fields conditionally.
  • Add and link tables by using the Visual Linking Expert, create reports by using various experts, and create and format a cross-tab report.
  • Export a report to other formats, such as Microsoft Excel or HTML 4.0, and print and mail a report.

Some exposure to a relational data base system such as Access, SQL Server, Oracle etc.
